Ruto’s tour
President William Ruto is expected to continue on a three-day development tour of Raila’s Nyanza base, widely seen as an effort to court the region’s support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
After launching several projects and making various promises, Ruto is expected to make more inroads on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
On Tuesday, which is the final day, the head of state is scheduled to inspect the Ntimaru ESP Market and the Affordable Housing Project in Ntimaru Town.
He will also preside over the issuance of a school bus to Gokeharaka Secondary School before proceeding to Narok County.
Investigations into the shoe-hurling incident are expected to continue, with key persons of interest expected to be thoroughly probed before being presented in court.
Kasipul MP shooting probe
Detectives are expected to intensify the probe into the shooting of Kasipul MP the late Charles Ong’ondo Were. In a statement issued late on Monday night, May 5, 2025, DCI noted that the sleuths yielded several key exhibits crucial to the case.
These exhibits—surveillance footage, the identification of the vehicle used to drop off the suspects, the financial proceeds found, and the connections to accompanying suspects—are pivotal in advancing the investigation and understanding the events surrounding Ong’ondo Were’s tragic murder.

“Investigators are actively pursuing additional suspects believed to be involved in this heinous act. Specialised units, including homicide and forensic teams, are working diligently to uncover all aspects of the crime, including the motive, to ensure a comprehensive investigation,” DCI noted.
Preparations of Charles Were mass
Preparations for the requiem mass before flying the body of the late Kasipul Charles Were are expected to intensify on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
Various MPs, family members are expected to convene meetings aimed at discussing how everything will be conducted.
A requiem mass will be held at the Holy Family Basilica in Nairobi on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. The body will then be transported to his rural home in Kasipul on Thursday, May 8, 2025, ahead of the burial ceremony the following day.
With the limited time, the Tuesday meeting is expected to endorse protocols that would be followed regarding the planned activities before the burial.
As part of the preparations, Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga said the county government will take part in the burial preparations. She noted that this includes improving the road that leads to the late MP’s home to ease movement for mourners and guests.
Public participation in the bill seeking to entrench CDF into the constitution
Public participations forums on the proposed Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill No. 4 of 2025, which seeks to entrench the National Government Constituencies Fund (NG-CDF), the Senate Oversight Fund, and the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) into the Constitution of Kenya, will proceed on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

The exercise, which started on Monday, May 5, 2025, is expected to run up to Thursday, May 8, 2025, across all 290 constituencies.
Different areas in Mombasa County, Kwale, Kilifi, Garissa, Wajir, and Mandera, among others, will be covered on Tuesday.

Edinburgh’s International Award conference
Africa regional conference of the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is expected to continue on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The weeklong event will offer a platform for the youth to discuss ways to spur continental development and also nurture them on leadership.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, Muhoho Kenyatta, the trustee of the Duke of Edinburgh International Award Foundation and chair of the African region, expressed confidence in youth leadership, insisting that it is critical in transforming the continent.

Muhoho, who rarely makes public appearances, argued that youth leadership stands to steer the continent forward by employing innovation and utilising their energy.
“As I look around this room, I see the faces of dedicated individuals who, despite numerous challenges, continue to champion the cause of youth development across our diverse continent. Your presence here today is a testament to your unwavering belief in the potential of every young person in Africa to be a catalyst for positive change,” Muhoho stated.
“It is their time now to grasp and take over the mantle of leadership, and as such, the stewardship of our continent with their passion, innovation, and energy,” he added.
