Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has intensified preparations for the upcoming Linda Mwananchi rallies after holding a meeting with members of the Boda Boda fraternity in Trans Nzoia County.

Writing on X on Friday, July 24, 2026, the governor said the engagement forms part of the mobilisation efforts ahead of the political rallies scheduled for Trans Nzoia and in neighbouring Bungoma County.

“Today, I had a productive meeting with the boda boda fraternity in Trans Nzoia as part of our ongoing preparations for the Linda Mwananchi rallies. We are set to hold the rallies on 25th July in Trans Nzoia and 26th July in Bungoma. I value the critical role our boda boda operators play and look forward to engaging with the people. Linda Mwananchi!” Natembeya said.

Mobilisation ahead of weekend rallies

The boda boda sector has increasingly become an important stakeholder in political mobilisation due to its extensive presence across towns and rural areas. Political leaders often engage operators to help spread campaign messages and facilitate movement during major events.

Natembeya’s meeting comes as the Linda Mwananchi movement continues organising public rallies across different parts of the country, where leaders have been rallying support around governance, accountability and issues affecting ordinary Kenyans.

The Trans Nzoia rally is expected to bring together supporters from across the county before the movement proceeds to Bungoma the following day.

Growing political activity

The planned rallies add to a series of political engagements that have gathered momentum as leaders continue traversing the country ahead of the 2027 general election.

Natembeya has remained one of the prominent figures associated with the Linda Mwananchi movement, using public forums to engage residents on governance and national issues while calling for greater public participation in shaping the country’s political direction.

The weekend meetings in Trans Nzoia and Bungoma are expected to attract leaders allied to the movement as they continue expanding their grassroots mobilisation efforts in the Western Kenya region.
