The sitting is expected to set the tone for Kenya Kwanza in the House businesses and other important coalition agendas.

The reconstitution of departmental committees is also expected to feature in their deliberations.

The latest meeting comes as former Prime Minister Raila Odinga winds up his consultative meetings before giving the way forward. After failing to secure the AUC chairmanship seat, Raila hinted at extending his work relationship with Ruto, with some of his allies openly endorsing the move.

During Kenya Kwanza PG, the MPs might also consider extending the working relationship with ODM beyond the broad-based government arrangement.

After service and tributes, Chebukati’s family will prepare for the burial ceremony slated for Saturday, March 8, 2025.

Speaking after receiving the cortege, Kwanza Member of Parliament Ferdinand called on Kenyans to attend the burial in large numbers and accord Chebukati his last respects.

However, he cautioned the attendees to respect the family and avoid political matters, saying Chebukati was a civil servant and not a politician.

“Trans Nzoia residents should come out in large numbers to condole with the family of Chebukati and give him his final respects. We are going to mourn him; no other business. I have no problem with anyone talking but no politics; he was not a politician but a civil servant. Let us wait for 2027 to talk politics,” Wanyonyi stated.
