Kericho Governor Paul Chepkwony confirmed on Wednesday evening the 47-year-old man who had been quarantined at the health facility for the past five days didn’t have the virus.
Briefing journalists at the Kericho County Referral Hospital on the update on measures to curb the spread of coronavirus disease in the county, governor Chepkwony said the man was suffering from diabetes.

The man was rushed to the hospital by his wife on Sunday night following severe coughing and complaining of weak joints symptoms said to be similar to those of coronavirus.
He was immediately quarantined in isolated ward with blood samples taken for specialised tests in Nairobi where results showed he was not coronavirus positive.
The man was said to have travelled from Mombasa a few days before he felt unwell prompting his wife to rush him to Londiani Sub-county Hospital for treatment.
The family lives at Total area at Mau Summit at the border of Kericho and Nakuru counties.
Meanwhile governor Chepkwony has said the county administration has put in place measures aimed at stopping the spread of Coronavirus in case it strikes in the county.
