Magwanga picked as Livestock minister
Homa Bay Deputy Governor Oyugi Magwanga (pictured) has been given an additional role as Agriculture and Livestock County Executive Committee Member.
Governor Gladys Wanga nominated her deputy, as she unveiled 11 officials to serve in her Cabinet.
In a statement to media houses on Tuesday, Wanga unveiled the 11, whose names have been forwarded to the Assembly for vetting.
During his swearing in, Magwanga promised that he would be willing to serve other duties assigned to him by the governor to ensure that Homa Bay develops.
Wanga promised to uplift the living standards of residents through working with the right people. Besides Magwanga, Wanga nominated Roseline Omollo to head Public Health docket, Martin Opere (Education and Vocational Training), Danish Onyango (Roads, and Transport) and Solomon Obiero (Finance and Economic Planning).
Others are Dr Joash Aloo (Water), Polycarp Okombo (Trade) and Peter Ogolla (Lands).
Other nominees are Grace Otieno (Governance, Administration, Communication and Devolution), John Agili (Blue Economy) and Sarah Malit (Gender Equality and inclusively, Youth, Sports, Talent development, Cultural Heritage and Social Services).
