Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya coalition has announced that the anti-government will continue on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

In a statement read by Usawa party leader Mwangi Wa Iria on Saturday, July 22, 2023, the coalition announced that the protests will begin from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The coalition also stated that its leaders and supporters will not be cowed to opting out of the anti-government protests.

“Our people will not be surrendered or be cowed. ..Our peaceful, countrywide demos will continue next week Wednesday. We are serving notice to all the OCSs across the country for the Wednesday peaceful demos,” the statement reads in parts.

The opposition further reiterated that it will not pursue any engagement with the government until all perpetrators of violence meted out against protesters are arrested.

“We will pursue no engagement with Kenya Kwanza until the perpetrators are apprehended,” they added.

Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka called on Azimio supporters to enhance peace during demonstrations. He also urged supporters to remain vigilant even as they protest and refrain from attacking police officers even when attacked.

“We, therefore, have reached a conclusion on peaceful, and we stress peaceful and unarmed demonstrations,” Kalonzo said.

“We call on our people to remain vigilant on that call however much you feel provoked don’t harm any policeman leave it to them to harm you the world is watching,” he added.
