Lawyer Levi Munyeri has doubled down on his pursuit of an ouster motion against the Law Society of Kenya President, Faith Odhiambo, following her nomination to the panel of compensation for victims of demonstrations and public protests.

 In a statement shared via his official X page this Friday, September 12, 2025, Munyeri confirmed that he was delegating his representation in the case where he is challenging the legality of the formation of the panel to lawyer Nelson Havi, so that he can shift his focus on his new legal battle against the embattled LSK president.

“I have appointed HAVI & CO ADVOCATES to lead a Library of Lawyers and represent me in the case against the Panel of Experts. Those who wanted to see me on the side, see Nelson Havi, Esq. I can now focus on the motion to oust Faith Odhiambo as LSK President,” he stated.

His quest comes amid the mounting onslaught on the newly constituted panel of experts, where Odhiambo was appointed as the vice chair of the President William Ruto-sanctioned panel with Makau Mutua as the chairperson.

Following the appointment and subsequent swearing into office on Thursday, September 4, 2025, Munyeri took to his X page to demand the resignation of the attorney.

“It is a personal decision for Faith Odhiambo to serve Ruto in an unconstitutional Panel of Experts. However, she must resign as the President of LSK, failure to which we will file an urgent motion to eject her as LSK President,” he stated.

Conflict of interest

 In his argument, he cited a conflict of interest in Odhiambo performing her statutory duties as the president of the legal umbrella body and as the vice chair of the unconstitutional panel of experts.

His objections first surfaced on August 25, 2025, when Odhiambo was unveiled among the panel of experts on the compensation of victims of demonstrations and Public protests.

He particularly challenged the two human rights defenders to reject their appointment to the task force.

“It would be so foolish of Faith Odhiambo and Irungu Houghton to accept this appointment and become pawns in Ruto’s public relations stunts. I care less about the rest of the appointed puppets. @FaithOdhiambo8 and @irunguhoughton,” he stated then.
