Kenya Premier League table-toppers Kakamega Homeboyz have been warned against complacency ahead of their Kenya Premier League match against Vihiga Bullets today.

Homeboyz who are at the top table will be hosting relegation-threatened Bullets at Bukhungu stadium in an Ingo Derby that has been the talk of Kakamega for the last few days.

Yesterday, Homeboyz head coach Bernard Mwalala said he expects a tough match and warned his players not to underrate their opponents.

“At the moment we’re not looking at where we are positioned at the league table, The idea here is to remain focused and treat our opponents with utmost respect,” offered Mwalala.

He added: “We are approaching the homestretch and each team will be gunning to collect maximum points. We know our opponents will be coming fully prepared but we shall take them head on.

“Sometimes when you’re at the summit every team targets you,and it’s from this perspective we want to keep doing things differently,” said Mwalala.

He called on the players to give all their best while taking each match at a time as they look forward to clinching the title this season.

“We want to give credit to our loyal fans who have kept pushing us in both home and away matches as this has boosted the morale in the team,” he pointed out.
