Late Ol Kalou MP David Kiaraho’s burial underway
By Ndiritu Wanjiru, April 10, 2026The final send-off of the late former Ol Kalou Member of Parliament, David Kiaraho, is on Friday, April 10, 2026, happening at his Tigoni farm in Kiambu County.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, Cabinet Secretary for Tourism Rebecca Miano, and Nyandarua Governor Kiarie Badilisha are among the top leaders present at the burial, where mourners continue to pay tribute to the former lawmaker.
The burial takes place as announced by the Parliament of Kenya, where the final church service and interment are being conducted, marking the conclusion of his send-off proceedings.
A requiem Mass will be held at St Andrew’s PCEA Church in Nairobi on Thursday, 9th April, starting at 12:00 pm. Burial church service and interment are scheduled for Friday, 10th April, in Tigoni,” Parliament stated.

Kiaraho’s death
Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula officially announced the death of Kiaraho in Notification No. 002 of 2026 on Sunday, March 29, 2026. The speaker affirmed that the late MP had passed away at around 1:20 a.m.

He was receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital, although some sources claim he also received expert medical treatment in India before his death. Wetang’ula also sent his condolences to the family of the bereaved and declared that a funeral preparation committee was being established to take care of the burial.
Kiaraho’s career
David Njuguna Kiaraho was born into a world that combined professional knowledge with serving the people, which helped him transition from being a principal architect to becoming an experienced politician. He was the representative for the Ol Kalou Constituency in the National Assembly and served three terms in the Parliament. There, he was the champion of development programmes and the voice of his constituents.
Kiaraho passed away at the age of 62. He left behind a legacy of leadership, service, and dedication to improving his community. His burial is the last episode of a life that was inspirational to many in Nyandarua County and beyond.
