The Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) has announced the temporary closure of sections of Ngong Road and Forest Line Road in the Embulbul area to facilitate traffic management during the Oloolua Forest Run 2026.

In a public notice issued on Friday, April 24, 2026, KeRRA confirmed that the affected road sections will be closed on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 6:00 am to 11:00 am.

The closure will cover key roads along Forest Line Road, Ngong Road at Embulbul Junction, and Tamfeed/Gataka Junction and extend up to the SGR Bridge on Olkeri Road.

The authority stated that the measure is necessary to ensure safety and smooth coordination of traffic during the event, which is expected to attract participants and spectators along the route.

“In collaboration with the State Department of Irrigation, the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) wishes to notify the public of temporary road closures along Forest Line Road, Ngong Road at Embubul Junction, Tamfeed/Gataka Junction, and up to the SGR Bridge on Olkeri Road,” KeRRA announced.

According to the authority, the sections will be closed from 6:00 am to 11:00 am to facilitate traffic management during the run.

“This closure will take place on Saturday, 25th April 2026, from 6:00 am to 11:00 am to facilitate traffic management during the run,” KeRRA added.

The Kenya Rural Roads Authority has urged motorists, and residents in the affected areas have been advised to plan their journeys and use alternative routes during the closure period.

At the same time, KeRRA has outlined several diversion routes to ease movement during the temporary closure.

According to KeRRA, the alternative routes include the Cooperative–Gataka–Olkeri Road via Magadi Road, as well as the Matasia–Ngong–Karen route. Road users have been urged to follow traffic guidance from authorities on the ground to avoid congestion and delays.

“Motorists and residents are advised to plan their journeys and consider using alternative routes as indicated below: We regret any inconvenience caused and appreciate the public’s cooperation in supporting a safe and successful event,” KeRRA stated.
