Kenya Power lists counties to experience outage on Saturday, November 22

Kenya Power has announced planned power outages in parts of Kajiado and Siaya counties on Saturday, November 22, 2025, to allow for essential maintenance work.

According to a statement posted by Kenya Power on X on Friday, November 21, 2025, the utility company said in Kajiado County, the areas affected will include Ilasit, Oloitoktok Town, Tarakea, Entarara Rombo up to Elerai Njukini, Kimana, Namelock, Isinet Itilal, Inchalai, and Mbirikani Market, as well as surrounding customers.

The blackout will be in effect from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

“Parts of Kajiado County, including Oloitoktok, Tarakea, Entarara Rombo up to Elerai Njukini, Kimana, Namelock, Isinet Itilal, Inchalai, Mbirikani Mkt & adjacent customers will experience a scheduled power interruption on Saturday, 22.11.2025, from 9.00 A.M. to 5.00 P.M.,” Kenya Power stated.

Siaya County Outage

In Siaya County, power will be interrupted in Ajigo, Gobei, Ndori, and Barchando, along with nearby customers, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.

“Parts of Siaya County, including Ajigo and Gobei, will undergo maintenance on Saturday, 22.11.2025, from 8.00 A.M. to 4.00 P.M., affecting adjacent customers,” the statement read.

The residents and businesses in the affected areas are urged to plan accordingly and make necessary arrangements to minimise disruption to their daily activities. The company emphasised that the maintenance work is part of ongoing efforts to ensure a reliable and safe electricity supply to its customers.

Kenya Power said the interruption is part of its routine maintenance and system upgrades aimed at improving the reliability of electricity supply. The company reminded residents and businesses to treat all electrical lines as live during the maintenance period and apologised for any inconvenience caused.

The customers in the affected areas are advised to switch off sensitive electrical equipment during the blackout period and to use alternative power sources where available. Kenya Power reassured the public that the interruptions are temporary and necessary to enhance the overall performance of the power network.
