Kenya Power lists areas to experience blackout on Thursday, November 13

Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power outage affecting parts of Kiambu County on Thursday, November 13, 2025, as it carries out essential maintenance work in the North Eastern region.

According to the notice issued by the utility company via a post on its official X account on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, residents and businesses in Kawaida and Kimorori will experience a blackout from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The affected areas include Gatatha Farmers Kimorori, Kawaida, Black Petals, Koba Waters, Taka Taka Solutions, Nazareth Hospital, Sycamore, Gatoni Village, and neighbouring customers.

The power company emphasised that the outage is necessary to ensure the safety and reliability of the electricity supply in the region.

“This planned maintenance will help improve the efficiency and resilience of the network,” the notice read.

Kenya Power urged residents and businesses in the affected areas to take precautions during the blackout.

Users are advised to switch off appliances and sensitive equipment to avoid damage when the power is restored.

The company also encouraged residents to plan their activities around the blackout window and expressed gratitude for the public’s understanding and patience.
