Kenya Power lists areas to experience blackout on Saturday, November 8
By Kiprono Keileb, November 7, 2025Kenya Power has announced a scheduled power interruption on Saturday, November 8, 2025, affecting several parts of the country as part of ongoing maintenance and network upgrades.
In a notice shared on X posted on Friday, November 7, 2025, the company said the planned outage will help improve service reliability and ensure a stable power supply to customers once maintenance works are complete.
In the Nairobi Region, areas within South C will be affected between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The outage will cover KAWI House, Kawi Complex Road, parts of Oleshapara Road, Muhoho Road, CID, KIRDI, Akila 1 & 2 Estates, Akila Police Station, Mugoya Estate, Amana Estate, MUWA University, Red Cross, Boma Hotel, Al Mbarak Estate, Green 2 Estate, and adjacent customers.

Residents in the South Nyanza Region, particularly parts of Nyamira County, will also experience power interruptions during the same period. The affected areas include Nyansiongo, Chepngombe, Nyansiongo Mission, Manga Market, Eronge Boarding, Laitigo, Kamukunji Kebuse, Changwani, Etangi, Kahawa Secondary School, Nyansiongo Boys, and nearby customers.
In the Mt. Kenya Region, parts of Nyeri County will also be without power on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The blackout will affect Kiamwangi Coffee Factory, parts of Saigon, Kwa Ngacha Village, Kahashu Village, Kiarithaini Secondary School, Kiarithaini Primary School, Kiarithaini Market, Silver Wind, Riverbank, Safaricom Boosters, Airtel Boosters, and surrounding areas.
Kenya Power urged customers in the affected regions to plan accordingly and assured that power would be restored as soon as maintenance works are completed.
The company has in recent months been carrying out scheduled maintenance across various counties to replace ageing infrastructure and improve electricity distribution efficiency.
Residents are encouraged to treat all electrical installations as live during the maintenance period for safety purposes.
