Morara Kebaso: Only Gen Zs can defeat Ruto in 2027, not the opposition
Political activist and INJECT Party leader Morara Kebaso has asserted that the Kenyan youth is the only grouping that can dethrone President William Ruto at the ballot in 2027.
Speaking during an interview on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Morara stated that the youth possess three requisite tools that give them the edge over Ruto.
According to Morara, the youth have demonstrated not only their resilience in withstanding state violence and intimidation but also their technological savviness, which is crucial for exposing vote manipulation and enforcing accountability.
Only the youths
“I have repeatedly said that youths are the only people who are capable of defeating President Ruto at the ballot,” he stated.
Morara added that the opposition remains incapable of mounting any challenge to the incumbency.
“The opposition, even if they unite how many times, cannot beat Ruto at the ballot.”
“The youths are the only ones who can defeat state violence that comes in the form of goons and the police. The Gen Zs demonstrated that they can defeat it and occupy parliament while on the streets of Nairobi. So they are the ones who can defeat the tool that will be employed in 2027 for voter suppression,” he disclosed.
“With their technological edge, youths can render all that which IEBC relays during the elections as after news,” he added.
Elsewhere, Rigathi Gachagua urged Gen Zs to join the opposition.
Kebaso also spoke on how the youth could outcampaign even a well-oiled state machinery with mere euphoria.
“Gen Zs are the only ones who can outcampaign Ruto with all his money. But with a youth euphoria, your money becomes useless. Money can become useless in a campaign if voters decide so, and money, therefore, will not influence an election,” he added.

His remarks mirror those made by Boniface Mwangi, who described the Kenyan youth as the force representing the most potent threat to the status quo in Kenya.
In a statement on his X page on Friday, November 21, 2025, Mwangi stated that with better organisation, the youths are an unstoppable force with the energy and numbers they boast of.
Better organised
“Young people are the strongest opposition in this country, and when they organise, they are unstoppable,” he affirmed.
The human rights activist challenged the youth to take an active role in the nation’s political affairs, emphasising that they remain solely responsible for bringing leadership change.
“If we want better leadership, we must build it together. No one is coming to save us. We save ourselves by choosing integrity, speaking truth, and standing with each other,” he stated.
