Emurua Dikirr Member of Parliament Johana Ngeno has joined the growing list of leaders supporting former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s call for a national dialogue.

Speaking in Rongo, Migori County, on Sunday, July 13, 2025, the lawmaker said the time has come for a serious conversation between the government and the youth who have been protesting across the country, demanding to be heard.

He emphasised that the dialogue should strictly involve the youth and the government, not opposition leaders, particularly former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Osoro’s take on the same

South Mugirango MP Silvanus Osoro has also come out to throw his weight behind Raila Odinga, saying that Raila’s call for a national dialogue is timely and necessary, emphasising that it’s important for the country to have a conversation.

“Enough is enough; na baba Jana alisema ya kwamba we need a national dialogue, na sisi kama viongozi tunasupport what baba said ya kwamba people must talk,” Osoro said.

The UDA lawmaker also took a swipe at Martha Karua, who recently dismissed Raila’s proposal for an intergenerational conclave. Osoro told her that she has no say in the matter, claiming no one is interested in hearing from her. He said the conversation is national and involves Kenyans, not individual interests.

He reminded Karua of her lack of political influence, pointing out that she failed to deliver even her polling station during the last general election. According to him, she lacks the political ground to comment or challenge Raila’s initiative.

“‘Nimeona Martha Karua akisema, ‘Ooh, at hatutaki utuongeleshe. Sisi hatutaki kukuongelesha. Tunaongea juu ya Wakenya. Ulidanganya, Baba, ati Utama, kura na polling station yako ukashindwa,’” he added.

Raila’s recent proposal of an intergenerational national conclave, with its proceeds being subjected to a referendum, released during a presser at Serena Hotel, has drawn mixed reactions from Kenyans, with some leaders, especially those from the opposition, dismissing it
