Isaac Mwaura: Ruto’s govt will fulfil all its promises
Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura Maigua has assured Kenyans that President William Ruto’s administration remains committed to delivering on all its campaign pledges, saying several key programmes are already either ongoing or have been achieved.
Speaking on the government’s development agenda in an interview with Kameme TV on Monday, June 15, Mwaura pointed to the affordable housing programme as one of the flagship projects currently underway, aimed at expanding access to decent and affordable homes across the country.
He also highlighted the fertiliser subsidy programme, noting that it continues to support farmers by reducing production costs and boosting agricultural output. On education, Mwaura said the government has so far employed more than 100,000 teachers, reinforcing staffing levels in public schools nationwide.
“The government promised affordable housing, and it’s currently ongoing; we promised about fertiliser subsidies, and they’re ongoing; we also promised to employ teachers, and so far, more than 100,000 teachers have been employed. We also agreed to make sure that our hospitals work under SHA, and that has happened,” Mwaura said.

In the health sector, the spokesperson said the transition to the Social Health Authority (SHA) has been successfully implemented, a move he said was intended to improve access to healthcare services and streamline insurance coverage.
On employment, Mwaura noted that the government’s labour migration initiative has already enabled over 580,000 young people to secure jobs abroad, describing it as a key intervention in addressing youth unemployment.
“We also promised to take youths for jobs abroad; we have taken over 580 000. We also promised on roads and other issues we promised and have achieved, and the ones that have not been fulfilled are going to be fulfilled eventually,” he added.

He further cited ongoing road construction and infrastructure development projects across the country, saying these remain central to the administration’s economic transformation agenda.
Mwaura maintained that while some commitments are still in progress, the government remains focused on fulfilling all its promises, eventually urging Kenyans to remain patient as implementation continues across sectors.
