Education Cabinet Secretary Julious Migosi Ogamba released the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results at AIC Chebisas High School in Eldoret on Friday, January 9, 2025, outlining how students can access their marks online. He spoke as thousands of candidates, parents, and school officials followed the event with anticipation.

In a statement made during the release, CS Ogamba explained that individual candidates would be able to view their results directly through the official Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) platform.

He said candidates should follow the procedure carefully to avoid errors when accessing their scores.

“Individual candidate examination results will be accessed online through a link on the KNEC website that is results.kneck.ac.ke, and candidates will be required to enter their index number and one of their names as per the registration data ofthe 2025 KCSE examination. The results will be live and accessible after the end of the function.” Migos Ogamba said.

Step-by-Step guide

  1. Visit the web address: https://results.knec.ac.ke or visit the KNEC website and click on KCSE RESULTS
  2. Enter the candidate’s Index Number and at least one name
  3. Accept the privacy and access notice
  4. Search for the results

The CS urged students to ensure that they use the exact index numbers and names used during their registration to prevent access issues. He also reassured schools and parents that the system was secure and capable of handling large traffic volumes.

Ogamba added that all candidates could print their results slips for official purposes, including university applications and scholarship verification. He reminded them that the online results were the official record until KNEC issued printed copies.

This year’s KCSE results release marks the continuation of Kenya’s digital shift in education services, allowing faster, safer, and more efficient access to examination outcomes for students nationwide.

2025 KCSE results released

The Ministry of Education released the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results on Friday, January 9, 2026. Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba presided over the official ceremony in AIC Chebisas High School in Eldoret.

993,226 students sat for the exams held from October 21 to November 21, 2025, after initial practical and oral tests.

270,000 candidates qualified for direct university entry after scoring C+ and above, with girls making up half of the 993,000 candidates.
