The simultaneous changes form part of a series of administrative adjustments affecting different state corporations and public offices announced through the Kenya Gazette on 30th April, 2026.

Political background and recent developments

This comes days after Omanga recently announced her exit from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party. Speaking on Milele Radio on 10th April, 2026, she said: “Na mimi nilitumika, sikujua kwamba ilikuwa kutumika kutafuta kura kwa akina mama… kumbe, ni kuadaa.”

Following her exit from UDA, she joined the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. In a post on X dated 19th March, 2026, Gachagua welcomed her into the party, describing her as “a woman in depth with developments” and stating that DCP focuses on listening to citizens’ concerns.

Omanga has also declared her intention to contest the Nairobi County Woman Representative seat in the 2027 General Election. She has stated that she received over 600,000 votes in Nairobi in the 2022 polls and expressed confidence in her political prospects in the upcoming election cycle under her new political alignment.
