Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has dismissed President William Ruto’s call for unity terming him a ‘tribal master’ focused on uniting other tribes against Mt Kenya region.

“Ruto is uniting other tribes against Mt Kenya but fortunately Kenyans cannot be duped by these schemes. There is a purge against people of Mt Kenya through mass firing, economic sabotage through unpaid pending bills and harassment of business persons including small scale traders who operate as hawkers at Nairobi CBD,” he said.

Speaking at the Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Holy Trinity Kitengela, Rigathi claimed there is a scheme to grab public land with expansive prison land targeted.

“Prison land has been sold and major facilities are set to be demolished including churches housed by the correction facilities,” he said.

Rigathi further alleged that Bomas of Kenya have been sold to private investors and Ruto is operating in the most cavalier manner due to lack of an opposing voice.

He waded into the issue of affordable housing saying it is a misplaced priority meant to aid public land grabbing.

According to Gachagua, speaking against abductions and extra judicial killings was among key issues that led to his unfair ouster from office.

Gachagua expressed confidence that Ruto will not be re-elected in 2027 over abductions and extra judicial killing, corruption, consistent lies and unfulfilled promises.

“Politics is a game of numbers and in 2027 the majority of Kenyans will decide. I want to urge our young people to register as voters in large numbers. No matter how many political pacts Ruto will form and how eloquent he may spell false roads, Kenyans will punish him for killing our innocent children. Our young men were abducted and killed by your government yet you profess yourself as a Christian. While the Bible says we forgive each other, it will be very difficult for me to forgive Ruto on the abductions and killings of our innocent children, on that one I need prayers, “he said.

He further took time to popularize his upcoming political party set to be launched in May 2025 saying it will be focused on the interest of Kenyans.

At a Sunday service in Christian Foundation Fellowship, Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka painted a grim picture of Kenya’s socio-economic state, decrying deepening hopelessness among the youth, economic hardships, and political betrayal.

Addressing the congregation, Musyoka emphasized the urgency of restoring the nation’s moral and economic foundations.
