Family cries for justice in kin’s murder
The family of a middle-aged woman from Murang’a who was doused in paraffin and set ablaze by her lover is demanding the arrest of the culprit who is still at large.
Grace Wanja succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital.
Wanja sustained 65 per cent burns after her lover allegedly set her ablaze after he demanded food but there was nothing in the house.
The family claims the suspect is well known in the area but he has since gone into hiding.
Isaac Mwangi, a family member, said the police should hunt him down and have him face the law.
“We are appealing to the police officers to hasten investigations and have him put behind bars for what he did,” said Mwangi.
The family gave a photo of the suspect to the police for circulation appealing to the public to help in tracing him.
The family appealed to well-wishers to help them offset the hospital bill which stands at Sh140,000.
