Don’t use BBI to divide Kenyans, Uhuru tells politicians

President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned politicians against using Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) as a tool to hurl insults and spread divisive politics.

Speaking at Kangeta in Igembe Central during the launch of KCC cooling plant today, the head of state blamed politicians of using the report to preach divisive and tribal politics to enhance their personal political interest.

“When we are trying our best to build unity and one Kenya, some politicians are busy misusing the BBI report to insult others and divide Kenyans just to enhance their own political interest instead of educating Wananchi on the important of the document,” said Uhuru.

The President who was accompanied by Meru County governor Kiraitu Murungi his Tharaka Nithi counterpart Muthomi Njuki ,Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya and nine legislators from the region, blamed politicians from the TangaTanga allied camp of trying to poison Kenyans that BBI is a plot to axe Deputy president William Ruto from power in 2022.

“I will not give up on the bid to bring Kenyans together through BBI, that is the legacy I want to leave when I exit power and those who are thinking the report is targeting to frustrate an individual or a certain tribe because citizens have the final say on who to elect as their leaders, “added Uhuru.

Calling on residents to support BBI,Mr.Uhuru urged Kenyans not to listen to such politicians referring them as enemies of unity noting the initiate is focusing on bringing equality and fair distribution of resources in the inclusive government.

“This report will ensure that there is equal representation of power in the national government and equal allocation of resources in all devolved unity but not creation of power for anybody, ‘he added.

He challenged politicians to instead fight in the race to development and towards realization of the Big Four Agenda to help Kenyan move forward economically.

Speaking County bosses Kiraitu and Muthomi lead the lawmakers Kubai Kiringo(Igembe Central),Kathuri Murungi (Imenti South),John Paul Mwirigi(Igembe South),Rahim Dawood (Imenti North) Charity Kathambi (Njoro),Maoka Maore (Igembe North) John Mutunga (Tigania West) and EALA MP Mpuru Aburi to declare support to BBI and Uhuru Kenyatta leadership.

“We cannot have a house with two male bulls Uhuru is the president and we will always be behind him and the direction he will ask us to follow come 2022 is the path we will take,” said Tharaka Nithi governor.

They also vowed to follow the direction of the president come 2022 accusing those trying to fight him as politicians who have no interest of Kenyans at heart
