A Nairobi Court has released Brian Mwenda, an alleged fake lawyer who has been accused of impersonation, on a cash bail of Sh200,000.

Milimani Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina further set a mention date for the matter on November 7.
Mwenda was on Tuesday last week charged with making a fake certificate for admission to practice law as an Advocate.

He denied six counts of making false documents, uttering a false document and identity theft.
Mwenda is said to have committed the offence between August 30, 2022 and March 3, 2023 at unknown place within the country.

The prosecution and LSK have opposed Mwenda’s release on bail stating that the matter is of public interest.

The prosecution has said that Mwenda is a flight risk and if released he might abscond.
The accusd person is represented by lawyers John Khaminwa and Danstan Omari
