Babu Owino vows continued support for Tassia fire victims
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has assured residents affected by the recent fire in Tassia of his continued support, pledging to stand with them through the recovery process.
In a statement posted on his X account on Friday, August 29, 2025, Babu Owino detailed the relief efforts undertaken to support fire victims whose homes and belongings were destroyed in the incident.
“Today, we distributed Blankets, Soaps, Foodstuffs and donated 500K to the Tassia fire victims, Embakasi East,” the MP stated.

Babu Owino acknowledged the difficult circumstances facing the fire victims, expressing empathy for their situation.
“I can only imagine how difficult and overwhelming this must be for my People,” he remarked.
The legislator reaffirmed his commitment to supporting his constituents during this crisis.
“They should know that they are not alone as long as I’m their Member of Parliament,” Babu Owino concluded.

Tassia incident
Babu’s remarks come days after a devastating fire broke out at Tassia Estate on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, leaving several homes ablaze and causing panic among residents.
In a statement posted on their X account on August 26, 2025, the Kenya Red Cross confirmed the incident and announced that 450 households had been affected.
The humanitarian agency also reported that the fire had been contained by members of the public who were working with the authorities, with one person evacuated to a healthcare facility for treatment.
“A fire has been reported at Tassia Estate in Nairobi County. Response teams are currently on their way to the scene,” the Kenya Red Cross stated.

“The fire has been contained by the NCC Fire Brigade with support from the Kenya Red Cross, Police and community members. About 450 households were affected, and one person was evacuated to Embakasi Health Centre,” Red Cross added.
