A fire has broken out at Tassia Estate in Embakasi East, Nairobi County, with emergency response teams currently on their way to the scene to contain the incident.

In a statement posted on their X account on August 26, 2025, the Kenya Red Cross confirmed the incident and announced the deployment of response teams to the affected area.

“A fire has been reported at Tassia Estate in Nairobi County. Response teams are currently on their way to the scene,” the Kenya Red Cross stated.

Photos and videos seen by People Daily show houses engulfed in flames, with clouds of smoke filling the air.

The National Police Service has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident as response efforts continue.

This comes weeks after a fire broke out at Embakasi Girls High School in Mukuru, Nairobi County, causing significant damage to school property, including one of the dormitories, early on the morning of July 6, 2025.

The Kenya Red Cross confirmed this earlier fire and reported three injury cases at the time.

“Fire at Embakasi Girls’ School, Nairobi County. Efforts to contain it are underway,” Red Cross said in a statement posted on their X account at the time.

“As investigations into the cause of the blaze continue, the school community is grappling with the shock and disruption caused by the incident. The fire has not only damaged infrastructure but has also disrupted the learning environment for hundreds of students.” Red Cross added.
