Here is what you need to know to keep up to speed with today’s happenings.
Ruto’s third-day visit to Mt Kenya
The president is scheduled to visit Nyandarua and Muranga counties this Thursday, April 3, 2025, as his visit to the vote-rich region enters its third day.
Ruto will be in Ol Kalou in Nyandarua County where he is expected to launch several AFD projects before moving to Maragwa Town in Muranga County for a similar launch of projects as per the president’s itinerary for the day.
The president who will be accompanied by his deputy Kithure Kindiki and other leaders is expected to make political pronouncements as his entourage greets and addresses the residents.
Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) Party event
The party leadership is expected to have a major event this Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the party’s headquarters in Nairobi.
According to a communique dated Wednesday, April 2, 2025, Eugene Wamalwa, the party leader will lead the event and thereafter host a joint Media briefing at 10 am.
Kidero in court
The hearing of a case involving former Nairobi Governor and Homabay Gubernatorial aspirant in the 2022 election, Evans Kidero will be undertaken this Thursday, April 3, 2025.

According to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), the former governor and 13 others are facing a lawsuit over the recovery of Ksh. 58 million embezzled from Nairobi City County.
The matter is among the high-profile graft cases set for hearing at the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court.
IEBC interviews
The nine-member Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) selection panel is expected to continue interviewing candidates seeking to become members of the electoral commission.
Wednesday’s interviews saw six members subjected to the oral interviews with the process set to resume this Thursday with new prospective members taking the hot seat.
Among those interviewed so far include Edwin Makori who is currently the Chairperson of the Audit Committee of the IEBC.
Chrispine Owiye who currently serves as the board’s Legal Expert was also taken through the interview.
The panel is seeking to recruit six members out of the 110 candidates that were shortlisted.
