Some people attract and retain the interest of the opposite sex with enviable regularity, while others struggle to get a second date. Here are some anti-seduction characteristics that could be making the dating life of this latter seducer impossible.

Being rigid: Seduction is a game that’s meant to be fun. It requires some open-mindedness and flexibility. If you appear too stuck to your own ideas 100 per cent of the time, this can be a turn-off. Even though you want to operate within basic personal principles and values, don’t sweat the small stuff. Relax, and demonstrate respect for your partner’s ideas, even if they are not identical to your own.

Being too self-absorbed: You will come off as too self-absorbed if you always want to dominate the conversation, talking about yourself all the time. Allow your date to talk about themselves too. Listen to them. Try not to interrupt your date while they are speaking. If your date asks you a question, respond and then ask them to share their own view.

Being cheap: If your date senses that you are stingy, it is a signal that you have something constricted in your character. You cannot let yourself go and take risks. Even if your financial situation may not always allow you to splash money around, be generous when you can afford to.  When you are broke, find creative ways to entertain your date.

Being impatient: Seduction is a process that needs to be enjoyed. When you start dating someone that you really like, think of it as a delicious five-course meal. You want to take your time to enjoy every bite, each individual food item. Rushing the process is like gulping down a five-course meal in five minutes. Be patient, and enjoy the seduction journey.

Being overly sensitive: Life doesn’t have to be that serious. It’s important to be easy-going enough, to be able to laugh at yourself, and this is something over-sensitive types just can’t do. They are difficult to be around. They can’t take a joke or see the fun side of life. They overreact to the slightest thing, often to the surprise of everyone else and always seem to be on the lookout for things to get offended about. They seem to keep an eye open for little details to pick on which were never meant as offences in the first place, twisting them out of recognition and blowing them way out of proportion.
