In the face of harsh criticism for the youth’s disapproval of President William Ruto’s administration, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has rallied support for them.

In his statement shared via his official X account, Amisi declared that a candidate selected and supported by the youth of Kenya will emerge victorious.

He explained that contrary to initial beliefs about paying off people for support, the young people abhor old politics that do not seek positive change; therefore, they are not stupid to be divided or bought.

The lawmaker continued by highlighting the youth’s unwavering support for their preferred candidate, warning that those who stand against change and refuse to join the young people risk being avoided and losing.

“Don’t be lied to. #GenZ are not stupid to be divided or bought by a regime they don’t want. These are not our tribal forefathers . Gen Z simply abhors old politics and the same old politicians with no ideas of change.

“They are simply weighing candidates. Once they settle on one, you won’t defeat their candidate. If you stand against the wave of change and refuse to join, you will be avoided like plague. A candidate selected and supported by the youth of Kenya shall win. Period,” he said.

Amisi’s remarks comes amid continued criticism aimed at the youth over their sustained criticism of Ruto’s policies and governance.

So serious were their grievances leading to heightened protests and digital activism witnessed last year following the contentious Finance Bill.

The recent criticism emanated from the Butere Girls saga after police officers teargassed a section of the students over their controversial play ‘Echoes of War’.

Several leaders drawn from the political divide joined the youth in condemning the state over what they described as brutality meted on young people.
