The frosty relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and impeached Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko could soon be a thing of the past after the former in a surprise move heaped praises to the head of state for his development projects.

In a social media post, Sonko defended President Kenyatta’s development record saying that he has been working extremely hard to improve the country.

Surprisingly, one of the projects which Sonko lauded President Kenyatta for is the Green Park Terminus, a project done by the Nairobi Metropolitan Service (NMS).

“Jokes and politics aside. Musiseme hii ni kufinywa, hakuna kufinywa nilifinywa, truly speaking jamaa anachapa job,” he posted.

Though the two were close friends, their relationship got worse after Sonko appeared to attack NMS – an entity that President formed to develop the capital.

Explaining why he wanted him impeached, President Uhuru said their friendship sunk into a quagmire due to the latter’s ineptitude in service delivery during his tenure.

Sonko has off late retreated to his social media anytime he wants to communicate.
