52 students, 6 teachers test positive for coronavirus at a Busia school
The County Government of Busia on Tuesday confirmed 60 new Covid cases at Kolanya Boys High School.
The cases are 52 students, six teachers and two support staff.
Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong said the coronavirus cases were confirmed from 100 random tests.
He said he has dispatched medical officers to the school to manage the isolation, quarantine and treatment plans.
“The County Government of Busia has dispatched a team of medical officers to Salvation Army Kolanya Boys High School to contain the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
“This followed a random test carried out at the school where it was shocking to learn that out of 100 tests carried out, 60 cases tested positive. Of the 60, 52 were students, 6 teachers and 2 were support staff,” said Ojaamong through his press unit.
