Wavinya Ndeti warns rivals of tougher defeat ahead of 2027 elections
Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has warned her political opponents to brace themselves for a tougher electoral contest in the 2027 elections.
Speaking at a rally in Mlolongo on Saturday, December 20, 2025, Ndeti stated that her immediate task is fulfilling her mandate to the people of Machakos. She pledged to carry out the responsibility with utmost fidelity.
“My opponents came here to Mumbuni, attacking me with every single opportunity, and I defeated all of them. That was just the beginning of the defeat they will face,” she said.
Wavinya also reflected on the recent by-election, where her Wiper cemented its regional dominance by clinching the hotly contested Mumbuni North by-election seat.
Trounced them all
The Kalonzo Musyoka-led party clinched the Mumbuni Ward seat, where their candidate, Anthony Kisoi, won the Member of County Assembly (MCA) seat with 3,849 votes, ahead of Harrison Wambua of the Alfred Mutua-led Maendeleo Chap Chap Party, who garnered 2,766 votes.
“I tell them that was only the beginning of what will come,” she added. “I have no time to argue with people. You people gave me work, and I am focused on doing it. When the time comes, we will show them their place. They should underestimate me at their own peril,” she added.

Her remarks come after she called out United Democratic Alliance (UDA) secretary general Hassan Omar for disrespecting the Wiper Patriotic Front by referring to it as a village party.
Speaking on Sunday, November 30, 2025, after the by-election triumph, Ndeti warned that the party would not allow its efforts and history to be belittled by individuals she described as beneficiaries of the party.
“Nimesikia mwingine hapa ati anasema chama cha Wiper ni village party na hata alikuwa senator kwa sababu alipewa na chama cha Wiper, anaitwa Omar Hassan. Yeye aliingia kwanza kiti ya Senator kwa sababu ya Wiper. Wametudharau lakini tutakimbizana na wao kabisa,” Wavinya stated.
Wavinya said Omar’s remarks were meant to demean the party that had played a major role in shaping national politics and giving leaders a platform.
“Number one wewe Omar ulionekana na Ruto kwa sababu ulipitia Wiper, kama haungepitia Wiper hata UDA haingekuona. Kwa hivyo patia Wiper heshima. Mkitupatia heshima mtapata heshima,” she stated.
