Kirinyaga County Governor Ann Waiguru and Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho’s political differences have taken a new twist after the latter accuses the former of hiring goons to disrupt Azimio la Umoja rallies in the county.

While responding to claims by Kibicho that she was being shielded by goons during her political campaign rallies, Waiguru said the PS had failed in his duties of protecting Kenyans and has no business lecturing Kenyans.

Speaking during a campaign rally at Kithiriti area of Nyangati Ward on Friday, July 15, the governor told Kibicho that his days as PS are numbered and should, therefore, be more concerned about his retirement.

Waiguru also told Kibicho to concentrate on selling Azimio la Umoja presidential candidate Raila Odinga and stop meddling in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) campaigns in Kirinyaga.

“Go tell Kibicho that the writing is on the wall. He has only a few days in office. I have heard him talk about goons. He should continue campaigning for Azimio,” Waiguru said.

The governor, who is defending her seat on UDA ticket, further asked Azimio to prepare for a humiliating defeat saying Mount Kenya was solidly behind William Ruto.
