UDA unveils Tutam Brigade to push for Ruto’s re-election
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has stepped up its grassroots mobilisation efforts after hosting a women-led political group named Tutam Brigade, aimed at strengthening support ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In a statement shared on X on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, the party pointed out that a meeting was held at its headquarters in Nairobi, bringing together women leaders and mobilizers drawn from across the capital.
The party explained that the engagement brought together a vibrant team of women activists from different parts of Nairobi who are expected to play a key role in grassroots mobilisation and messaging at the community level.

“The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan hosted the vibrant Tutam Brigade drawn from Nairobi City County at the Party Headquarters, Hustler Plaza,” the statement reads.
According to the party, the group is made up of representatives from all 17 constituencies within Nairobi and is focused on reaching ordinary wananchi with information about government programmes while also building political support for President William Ruto’s re-election in 2027.
“Led by their Patron Liz Waithira, and drawn from the 17 constituencies of Nairobi City County, the group is championing public sensitisation of programs being undertaken by the government, even as they drum up support for President Ruto’s re-election in 2027,” the statement reads.

The party further indicated that the initiative is not limited to Nairobi, noting that there are already plans in place to expand the model across the 47 counties within the country as part of a broader political strategy.
“Beyond mere advocacy, the brigade’s ambitious roadmap to scale operations across all 47 counties underscores a nationwide strategy to consolidate the women’s vote for the Party,” the statement reads.
“Hassan assured the group of the party’s support as they advance their mission,” the statement reads.
