There is a high possibility of Deputy President William Ruto and his political rival Raila Odinga reconciling after August 9 polls, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria now claims.

Kuria said the two have worked together before and there is nothing that would hinder them to work together after President Uhuru Kenyatta exits the stage after serving his two terms.

Addressing thousands of his followers who gathered at Thika Stadium in Kiambu County today, Kuria said that should the two reunite, Mt Kenya region will be sent into political oblivion.

In this regard, Kuria upheld that the two who are eying to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta must put on the table their plans for the region in the successive governments.

“They must tell us now what they have for the region in terms of developments, resource allocation and representation in their governments otherwise the region might be edged out after Uhuru retires as there are all likelihoods of the two reuniting,” he said.

He said that as Mt Kenya Unity forum, Mt Kenya leaders will convene and in one accord agree on who to support going forward based on what they will promise for the vote-rich region.

In the countdown to the 2007 general election, Ruto was one of the chief campaigners of Odinga and as a member of the Pentagon, the top decision making organ of ODM, he used all means at his disposal to rally Kenyans behind Odinga’s candidature.
