President William Ruto met leaders from Machakos County at State House, Nairobi, as part of ongoing engagements between the national administration and grassroots leadership.
The meeting brought together Members of the County Assembly and key local leaders to discuss development priorities and how best to address the needs of residents on the ground.
In a statement shared on X on Thursday, April 2, 2026, the President said he consulted the grassroots leaders on the development priorities to ensure that the agenda is relevant and delivers the real impact to the people from the region.

The President emphasised on the importance of working closely with leaders at the grassroots to ensure government programmes reflect the real needs of citizens across the country.
