Deputy President William Ruto has on Tuesday November 9, 2021 taken his political forays to the Nyanza region, a perceived bastion of the Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga.

Ruto commenced his 3-day development tour with an engagement with youths at the Susan Owiyo Arts Centre. The second-in-command is also set to meet coordinators of his United Democratic Alliance party at Ciala Resort, Kisumu.

Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy President enumerated the development projects that the Jubilee administration has initiated in Kisumu county.

Ruto stated that the Uhuru-led administration prioritized electricity connectivity in the region that still had many residents not connected to the national grid.

Ruto also took a dig at leaders who pushed for constitutional reforms through the now defunct BBI process. He stated that BBI is the most fraudulent and deceitful constitutional process ever.

“Those who were pushing for the BBI only wanted to create and imperial presidency. They wanted to give the President power over other arms of government. This was the most fraudulent and deceitful attempt to change the constitution,” he said
