President William Ruto has urged the Kenyan youths to grill what the politicians have in store for them when they ask them to register and vote for them.

Speaking in Kakamega County during the launch of the NYOTA project in the western region on Friday, November 7, 2025, the head of state stated that it was time for youths to ask questions of their politicians.

“We have the political class, telling you to register and vote for them. They are not saying how that vote will help you. We must ask difficult questions; ask them, ‘What will you gain in return?” he posed.

Ruto, while defending his government’s plans to offer meaningful employment opportunities for the youths, revealed that he had brokered a new labour mobility program in Qatar where Kenyan youths will be absorbed.

“Apart from this NYOTA program, we have four programs on the ground for securing employment for the youth. Today we have a housing program recruiting over 600,000 carpenters, architects, and plumbers, among others,” he said.

Ruto also disclosed brokering a new employment avenue for Kenyan youths from his recent trip to Qatar.

“I was in Qatar the other day and spoke with their leader. He accepted having 13,000 more youths to go and work in the country to add to the 75,000 currently working in the country,” he stated.

According to Ruto, the government has now overseen 430,000 young people venturing abroad. through the fast-tracking passport processing.

“Position yourself appropriately; these works are for you to participate in the building and nation-making of this country and make opportunities to improve your lives,” he stated.
