Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga is back in the country after weeks of foreign tours.

Odinga who is eying to succeed his friend President Uhuru Kenyatta was welcomed back in the country by among others Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho, Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and Agriculture CS Peter Munya.

Raila arrived in the country at a time when campaigns ahead of August 9 polls continue to gain momentum with hardly a day ending before all presidential candidates crisscross the country to woo voters to vote in their favour.

Odinga also came back to the country days before the long-awaited ODM’s national delegates conference that is slated for next week and which is expected to host pre-listed 3,000 members.

The February 25 and 26 NDC will be held at the Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi and delegates are expected to endorse ODM leader Odinga’s presidential bid, and a coalition arrangement with the ruling Jubilee Party and other parties under the Azimio la Umoja Movement unveiled.

During his stay outside the country, Odinga who is the African Union High Representative for Infrastructure and Development visited Ethiopia and India.

He, among other activities, attended the 35th Summit of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Odinga is expected to head to the Coast for a four-day tour of the region to drum up support for Azimio la Umoja movement.
