Orengo: Raila has options post-AUC

African Union Commission (AUC) chairmanship contender Raila Odinga has numerous political options should the outcome of the election not favour him.
Raila’s ally and Siaya Governor James Orengo yesterday said the former prime minister still has many “bullets in store.”
Orengo insinuated that Raila has several options at his disposal.
His remarks come a day after Raila assured his supporters that he would always have a “home to go to” whichever way the elections went.
This was seen as a gesture of resilience and a commitment to his political journey.
Orengo was speaking during a prayer session held for Raila at Power of Jesus Christ Around the World church in Kisumu yesterday.
The prayers were symbolic of the region’s support and faith in Raila’s candidacy.
Despite the c uncertainties that often accompany high-stakes political races, Orengo expressed confidence that Raila would indeed triumph in the race for the AUC chairperson position.
Kisumu Deputy Governor Mathews Owili and his Homa Bay County counterpart Oyugi Magwanga and Kisumu MCAs led by majority leader in the County Assembly Seth Kanga attendend the church service.
Apostle Ogonyo Ngede led more than 30 bishops and pastors from various churches to intercede for Raila.
The clergy asked Kenyans to pray for Raila as they wished him well.
Ngede spoke of Raila’s unwavering commitment to justice and service to the people, and asked for divine guidance and favour to accompany him on his journey.
“Lord, grant him wisdom, strength, and courage to carry out this monumental task,” Ngede prayed, rallying the community behind the cause.
Other leaders present expressed their support for Raila’s vision to bring about unity, peace, and prosperity not just for Kenya, but for the whole African continent.
Luo Council of Elders Chair Mzee Odungi Randa, also offered blessings, praising Raila’s leadership.
“Raila, we know you to be a man of wisdom, vision, and sacrifice,” he said.
Odungi said: “May the ancestors guide you as you embark on this journey. We are with you, and we believe that your leadership will bring change not only to Kenya but to all of Africa.”
The elders underscored the importance of unity and leadership, assuring Raila that they would stand by him through every step of his campaign and leadership bids beyond the AUC race.
Kisumu Youth and Human rights defenders, political activists, led by Bob Onyango alias CEO asserted: “We believe in you, Raila, and we are with you every step of the way.”
They said Raila’s leadership would inspire hope and progress for Africa, as they reminded everyone to pray for Raila.
“Raila has always seen the potential in the youth, and during his time as Prime Minister, he opened the door to opportunities that many had never dreamed of,” he said.
Onyango emphasised that Raila’s policies, which are geared toward youth empowerment, remain testament to his commitment to uplifting the nation’s young people.
