Siaya governor James Orengo explained why he’s personally hopeful about Raila Odinga’s presidency.

Orengo while speaking in Ramba and Mahaya in Rarieda constituency on Friday, November 11, 2022, stated that despite Azimio la Umoja- One Kenya presidential candidate’s decades-long of futile effort to clinch the seat, God would still make it happen (if He wills).

The governor urged Raila’s supporters to keep the faith and remain hopeful further making an urgent call to them to remain loyal and strengthen the staggering opposition.

“I can tell you that if it is God’s will that Raila is to become the president of the Republic of Kenya, then that will cannot be taken away. Let us keep the faith,” Orengo urged.

Further, he seemingly warned the coalition’s members against decamping to Kenya Kwanza government as we have recently witnessed.

“I want you to remain hopeful because a people without hope cannot get anywhere. A person who abandons his mother’s leaking hut for a neighbour’s glittering house is a stupid fellow,” Orengo added.

Speaking to the same audience, Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo opined that leaders should remain loyal to the political outfits that sponsored them to Parliament.

“The people elected you in the party where you were because they wanted you in that party. If anything, there were UDA aspirants even in Rarieda whom the electorate could have voted for but they didn’t,” he said.

Adding;

“We will work with the government where necessary, cooperate but not go into submission… We will request humbly and when it comes, we take it with thanks.”

This comes as the constituency prepares to receive relief food from the government. The food will be distributed by ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo. The CS hails from Asembo in Rarieda, Siaya County.

The exercise will take place in Rarieda (Aram market) and Ugenya (Sega market) on Saturday.
