Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Oburu Oginga has assured that the party will continue its partnership within the broad-based arrangement with President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Speaking on Monday, December 15, Oburu, while mourning the loss of his brother, Raila Odinga, stated that the party would remain under the broad-based arrangement with Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza.

Until the end!

“This is the first time we are in Eldoret since my brother Raila passed on. I want to urge you, let us go on with the work of uniting Kenyans as envisioned by Raila, who left us in the broad-based government,” he stated.

“Sisi sio chama ya kubanduka. Kama vile Raila alituacha kwa broad-based government, tutafanya kazi na President Ruto mpaka mwisho wa 2027. Chama yetu si Chama ya kubanduka,”

He also urged the youths to take up their voting credentials ahead of the coming national elections.

“Vijana, naomba mchukue kura msiwe tu watu wakusema ODM bila kura. Kura ndio sauti yako, na hio ndio habari nilitaka kuwapa leo.”

His remarks were also echoed by Gladys Wanga, the ODM national chairperson, who accompanied him alongside Deputy Party Leader Simba Arati for the delegates’ party meeting.

Wanga lauded the unity brought about in the country through the broad-based government pact as key to moving Kenya forward.

“I want to ask youths to join this party inside the broad-based government and move forward. The call by Raila Odinga and President Ruto to bring the people of this nation together was a timely intervention, and we are in support of that arrangement,” she stated.

In a statement on her X page on Monday, December 15, 2025, Wanga also confirmed that the party leadership held a delegates meeting aimed at fostering cooperation and revitalising its inclusiveness.

“Alongside ODM Party Leader Senator Dr Oburu Oginga and Deputy Party Leader Governor Simba Arati, we engaged in extensive discussions with @TheODMparty delegates and grassroots officials from Uasin Gishu County in Eldoret City.

“The meeting served as a constructive dialogue aimed at fostering cooperation and revitalising our party inclusively,” she stated.
