Ndindi Nyoro decries move to bar him from launching ACC office in Kiharu
By Mabonga Makhanu, March 9, 2026Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has slammed top government officials for attempting to bar him from launching Assistant County Commissioner (ACC) offices in his constituency.
While speaking during the launch of the Assistant County Commissioner (ACC) offices in Mugoiri on Monday, March 9, 2026, the lawmaker, who has maintained a low profile in the recent past, stated that he was leaving Nairobi for his constituency to preside over the launch of the ACC premises.

He received a call informing him that he could only proceed with the launch after being issued a letter of approval from the authorities.
Nyoro dismissed the directive, stating that the only permission he needs is from the people of Kiharu and no one else, since, according to him, it is his constituents who have the final say.
“Nilipigiwa simu ati kufungua ofisi ya chief ama ACC, which we have built, ati nahitaji barua. Nikawambia barua nahitaji ni ya watu wa kiharu,” Nyoto stated.
He further said that the person instructing the police to bar him from launching the police station should come and face him directly instead of sending other people if they truly want to know who he is.
“Mwenye aliwatuma ati mkuje msumbue mwambie vita haiko hapa; ngoja mtaona tu maneno mambo bado.”
Nyoro also stated that the race towards the 2027 general election has not yet begun, but some unnamed individuals have already started trembling.
Past similar attempts
Attempts to bar Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro from launching offices in his constituency are not new. In 2025, there were similar attempts to stop him from launching the Mjini ACC office.

However, he proceeded with the launch despite the absence of the assistant chief, who was supposed to occupy the office which had been constructed through the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF).
Ndindi-Ruto’s fallout
Nyoro’s fallout with the current regime began after he refused to take part in the impeachment of the former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.
Following the incident, the Kiharu MP maintained a long period of political silence and did not immediately explain why he had declined to participate in the impeachment process.
He later broke his silence, stating that after deep self-introspection, he realised that the impeachment process was being pushed mainly to settle political scores at the expense of his friends’ political careers.
