Muluka: Sifuna’s decision to pause Linda Mwananchi’s activities was a mistake
Political analyst and communications expert Barrack Muluka has castigated the Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna-led Linda Mwananchi movement for taking a sudden pause in their political activities, which had been taking the country by storm.
While speaking during an interview with fellow political analyst Herman Manyora on his channel, which aired on Friday, March 7, 2026, the outspoken communicator stated that if Linda Mwananchi is indeed a revolution or a movement, it must keep going and maintain momentum and not strike such poses.
Taking a halt, according to Muluka, gives their adversaries time to regroup and recharge against them.

“And then, wonder, they say that we are going to slow down a little bit. It’s not done that way. If it is a movement, if it is a revolution, if it is a push for change, you keep going.”
He added that the short hiatus the Sifuna-led team has taken might make their agenda and message, which they have been passing across, short-lived—comparing it to salad oil on a hot frying pan, which fizzles out in minutes.
“Once you are on a roll. You keep rolling and outrun your adversaries. You do not allow them to regroup and recharge. So if it is true that these people have gone back to the drawing boards, then I’m afraid that their presence and their gender are going to be short-lived. They’re going to be like a piece of salad oil, a dose of salad within the hot frying pan. They will fizzle out.”
Linda Mwananchi hiatus

This comes days after Edwin Sifuna announced during their Kakamega rally that Linda Mwananchi would take a short break, with activities resuming after the holy month of Ramadan. He said they plan to resume with a grand rally in Mombasa before heading to the Luo Nyanza counties.
Sifuna added that during this break, the movement will focus on assembling resources provided by well-wishers who believe in their agenda. According to the embattled Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) secretary general, during the break, they also intend to develop a one-year roadmap on how they will carry out their political activities.
Kaiti meeting

Meanwhile, a section of Wiper leaders, led by Kaiti MP Joshua Kimilu, will host the Sifuna-led delegation for a church function in Makueni County, followed by a grand Linda Mwananchi rally at Mukuyuni Market.
According to the MP, other leaders expected to participate in this high-level forum include Mavoko MP Patrick Makau; Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr; his senator Dan Maanzo; and Kathiani MP Robert Mbui.
