Speaking in Emuhaya, Vihiga County, on Saturday, November 1, 2025, the PCS warned the residents against abandoning Ruto for the united opposition leader, Rigathi Gachagua.
Mudavadi likened abandoning the broad-based government to trading a ship for a canoe.
“Meli kubwa iliundwa wakati Ruto na Raila walitengeneza broad-based. Sasa ukiamua kutoka apo uende kwa ile meli ndogo inaitwa Wamunyoro utakuwa mtu wa akili kweli? He posed.
“I want to tell you that the broad-based is where we are,” he added.
Speaking at the same function, President Ruto intensified his campaigns for reelection under the banner of uniting the entire nation through a broad-based arrangement.
“Today, we are sharing this podium because we know unity is strength. We have said we don’t want politics of division. We want to stand united and take our nation forward. Do you want us to unite and take this country forward as a unit? As the leader of this country, I will unite all regions and communities as brothers,” he added.

MPs Dickson Maungu of Luanda, Beatrice Adagala, Ernest Kagesi (Vihiga), and Clement Sloya of Sabatia similarly voiced their support for the broad-based partnership.
“I was elected in Azimio, but I made a deliberate decision to back your government. I promised to work with your government and remain in the broad-based,” Maungu stated.
“We are tasked with leading the president’s reelection in this region with the likes of Maungu. This will, however, be possible if youth take up voters’ cards and prepare to vote in the coming general elections,” Sloya stated.
Others in attendance included Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum Opiyo Wandayi, PSs Interior Raymond Omollo and Jane Imbunya, former MP Yussif Chanzu, Kelvin Lunani, the United Democratic National Vice-Chair, and Mathare MP Anthony Oluoch.
