The Linda Mwananchi team has unveiled its itinerary for Bungoma and Trans Nzoia counties, which will culminate in a grand rally at Bungoma Posta Grounds on July 26, 2026, during Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s homecoming.

Speaking to local radio stations on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, former Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati, who is also the planner of Sifuna’s homecoming event, said that after concluding the Linda Mwananchi rally in Kitale, the caravan will proceed to Kiminini Market in Trans Nzoia County.

The following day, the team will attend a church service before heading to Kamukuywa Market in Bungoma County, where they will hold a roadside rally.

“We will begin with a rally in Kitale on July 25, then a Sunday service at Kiminini Catholic Church on July 26. We will then proceed to Kamukuywa market for a roadside rally, then to Kimili, Chewle, and our final rally will be at Bungoma Posta grounds,” Wangamati said.

The movement will then proceed to Kimilili Market, where the leaders will stop to greet residents before heading to Chwele Market in Sirisia Constituency for another major rally.

The caravan will then make its way to Bungoma Posta Grounds, where Edwin Sifuna will officially be endorsed and released by the community to traverse the country in search of support for his presidential bid.

Preparations for the homecoming are now in top gear, with politicians from Bungoma and Trans Nzoia increasingly defecting from their respective parties to align themselves with Sifuna.

The leaders have been traversing the counties, drumming up support and marketing Sifuna’s homecoming while urging residents to turn out in large numbers to attend the rally.

Wanyonyi aligns with Sifuna

The latest leader to align with the Linda Mwananchi movement is Westlands MP and Bungoma gubernatorial hopeful Tim Wanyonyi.

The legislator has also been touring parts of Bungoma County with his campaign vehicles, marketing Sifuna’s homecoming and endorsing the former ODM secretary general for the presidency.

This comes after Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya clarified that the upcoming homecoming ceremony for Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna at Bungoma Posta Grounds will be just a political rally and not a coronation.

Will Sifuna be coronated?

This also comes amid growing push and pull over whether, if it were indeed a coronation, it should instead be held in Kakamega County, being the headquarters and central point of the Western Kenya region so that all Mulembe communities can rally behind the Linda Mwananchi team leader.

The clarification was made during an event in Kanduyi on Friday, July 17, 2026, which was convened to plan and lay strategies for the high-level homecoming ceremony.

The governor stated that since Sifuna has already toured the other three Western Kenya counties with his Linda Mwananchi brigade, the organising team deemed it fit for him also to hold similar rallies in Trans Nzoia and Bungoma counties, effectively completing his political tour of the Western region.
