MP Kururia urges Ruto to turn Roysambu church into polling station

Gatundu North Member of Parliament (MP) Kururia Njoroge has pleaded with President William Ruto to consider making Jesus Winner Ministry church in Roysambu a polling station ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Sunday, March 2, 2025, during a church service that was attended by President Ruto, Kururia argued that the Jesus Winner Ministry believers will return favors to the head of state for always standing with them.
According to the lawmaker who won the Gatundu North MP seat in 2022 as an independent candidate, the proposal to make the church a polling center should be considered during the ongoing process to reconstitute the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Supporting Ruto
He further argued that the believers of the Bishop Edward Mwai-led church would not like to be mixed with other Kenyan voters ahead of 2027, since they will all vote for Ruto.
Making the church a polling center, Kururia says, will make it easy for the members to register as voters and cast their votes during the next electioneering period.
Wakati IEBC inatengenezwa, Jesus Winner ifanywe polling center. Kwa sababu tunakujanga kanisa Tuesday na Wednesday, tunataka tukikuja huduma tuchukue kura hapa, na tunachaguania hapa ndio ujue hii ni kanisa yako kabisa kwa sababu ya vile umesimama na sisi,” Kururia said amid cheers from the church members.
Ruto praised
The lawmaker went ahead to hail President Ruto for participating in contributions to put up a multi-million church for the Jesus Winner Ministry, whose construction is ongoing.
He also said that the head of state has always been by the church’s side since the time it was purchasing land for the ongoing construction.
