Manyora: It is only Gachagua and Sifuna who can defeat Ruto
Political analyst Herman Manyora has stated that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna are the only people who can take President William Ruto home in 2027.
While speaking during his daily analysis on Friday, May 22, 2026, the revered analyst further stated that Kenyans should also be ready for a Gachagua presidency.
Manyora continued to state that what Kenyans want is a tough politician of the stature of Gachagua and Sifuna, who will not allow his votes to be stolen or allow a post-election handshake as has happened in the past, or his electoral victory to be compromised.

According to him, this describes both Gachagua and Sifuna.
He went ahead to state that matters could become even more complicated if the two decide to form a pact, saying it would increase public confidence in them and make the masses wholeheartedly throw their support behind them.
To beat Ruto, he said, “you need either Gachagua or Sifuna, or both of them”
He added that it is an inevitable choice and that Kenyans will have to settle on one of them or both.
Linda Mwananchi Opposition pact

Gachagua has been courting the Sifuna-led Linda Mwananchi faction to join the united opposition in their joint quest of unseating Ruto.
He has stated that despite all united opposition leaders having interests in vying for the presidency, with each principal being ready to shelve their ambitions and support one of their counterparts, the same will apply if the Edwin Sifuna-led Linda Mwananchi team joins them.
They will also be ready to rally behind a member of their team and front him as their flag bearer.
Sifuna’s pespective

On the other hand, Edwin Sifuna has also accepted to partner with the Gachagua team, saying that there is a common understanding among Kenyans that for William Ruto to be removed, there must be overwhelming repudiation.
For this reason, he has accepted to join the united opposition so that they can approach William Ruto as a unit. He also stated that he will not be part of the vote-splitting mechanism that has been witnessed in the past.
