Kalonzo Musyoka has restated the significance of the 2027 elections, terming it as crucial in delivering Kenyans from what he termed as a dictatorial regime under William Ruto.

Speaking in Makutano, Embu County, on Saturday, October 11, 2025, the Wiper leader dismissed Ruto for meting violence on the youth through his ‘shoot on the leg’ decree delivered by Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen.

He reasserted that Kenyans should respond to the decree by equally ‘shooting Ruto’ by voting him out in the coming polls.

“2027 is about kujikomboa an kukomboa nchi tangu Kenya inyakue uhuru hakujakuwa na uongozi wa kimabavu kama huu. Sisi tunasema yeye ansema Watoto wapigwe risasi na sis tunasema pia apigwe risasi  kwa ballot awe wantam,”

Delivering Kenya

“2027 is about delivering this nation. Since independence, we have never had a dictatorial regime such as this one. Ruto has ordered our children to be shot in the leg. We also say we should shoot him at the ballot and make him a one-term president,” he stated.

Kalonzo also revisited talk of the united opposition unity, stressing that the outfit had resolved to guard their unity by all means.

“Tunaomba akina mama na wazee wote waungane Sisi pia tutashikana kwa kauli moja kukomboa nchi yetu. Tutahakikisha hakuna ile sibling rivalry hadi tuhakikishe anaenda nyumbani,”

Kalonzo’s remarks come as the United opposition took its charm offensive to the Mount Kenya region.

The brigade pitched camp in Embu on Saturday, October 11, 2025, with the leaders stepping up the one-term calls against President Ruto.

The team campaigned for the Democratic Party candidate contesting the Mbeere North by-election, a seat left vacant after Geoffrey Ruku joined the Cabinet to replace his former party leader, Justin Muturi.
