Eliud Owalo launches membership drive as People’s Prosperity Party seeks to expand support

People’s Prosperity Party (PPP) leader Eliud Owalo has launched a membership recruitment drive, urging Kenyans to join the political outfit as it seeks to expand its grassroots presence across the country a head of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement on his X account on Saturday, July 11, 2026, Owalo said interested Kenyans can register as PPP members through the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) platforms using either a mobile phone or the online portal.

“Joining PPP is easy as one, two, three!” Owalo said, outlining two registration options available to prospective members.

How to register

According to the former Cabinet Secretary, Kenyans can register by dialling the ORPP short code *509#, which requires airtime, or through the ORPP web portal, which requires internet access.

Owalo urged supporters not to be left behind, describing the party’s political campaign as the “Third Liberation Movement” aimed at transforming the country.

“Don’t get left behind. Join the Third Liberation Movement! And let’s change Kenya one member at a time!” he said.

The former ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo officially unveiled the People’s Prosperity Party (PPP) on July 8, 2026, declaring that he will seek the presidency in the 2027 General Election on the party’s ticket.

Speaking during the launch held at the Ustawi House in Nairobi, Owalo announced that he would be flying the People’s Prosperity Party flag in the 2027 presidential election.

“I want to congratulate Kenya’s new political party, the People’s Prosperity Party, on this auspicious unveiling. I would also want to thank the PPP party for welcoming me to be the chief guest and to unveil the party’s headquarters, Ustawi House, the head office and the secretariat for the PPP party,” Owalo said
