The repeat Jubilee Party delegates meeting in Kiambu County is currently underway, which comes as a continuation of the high political engagement that the party had announced in the process of refreshing its grassroots mobilisation and reorganisation in preparation for the upcoming 2027 general election.

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, as earlier indicated on Monday, May 18, 2026, by the deputy party leader Fred Matiang’i, has arrived at the delegates conference and is set to guide the deliberations to be held in the meeting.

“We announced this meeting last week on Friday, and I want to thank our chairperson in Kiambu for the work he has done in preparing the event. I would like, after this meeting, to have a brief meeting with all the aspirants. In consultation with the party leader, we have agreed that we shall have another meeting of this kind here next week to announce the deliberations we were to announce today,” Matiang’i said on Monday, May 25, 2026.

Essence of grassroots delegates meeting

Deputy Party Leader Fred Matiang’i indicated that the Kiambu engagements were aimed at strengthening grassroots support, building party unity, and readiness for the next electoral cycle. He hinted that a second meeting would be conducted to provide for a formal announcement of the resolutions and deliberations that had come out of the first delegates’ meeting in the presence of the party leader.

The Jubilee party, which is led by the fourth president, Uhuru Kenyatta, has been seen to take a keen interest in young people and women in leadership and decision-making within the party as a way of improving Jubilee’s future political prospects, which would be to empower the youth.
