Samburu West Member of Parliament Naisula Lesuuda has been voted the best-performing elected woman MP in Kenya with a 73 per cent approval rating in a recent leadership performance survey by Infotrak.

The ranking is based on the level of confidence of the public in her leadership and service delivery, placing her ahead of all other elected women MPs in the country.

The survey result released on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, showed Lesuuda was closely trailed by Aldai MP Marianne Kitany, who got 72 per cent.

Edith Nyenze (Kitui West) placed third with a 67 per cent approval rate.

Moiben MP Pylis Bartoo, Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo and Kipipiri MP Wanjiku Muhia tied for fourth place with 65 per cent each.

The top ten included other MPs who all got between 62 and 63 per cent approval ratings, namely Kisumu West MP Rosa Akinyi, Makueni MP Suzanne Ndunge, Teso South MP Mary Emase Otucho and Gilgil MP Martha Wangari.

The rankings reflect how more and more women legislators are becoming visible and effective, with those identified for their work credited for their activities around legislation, constituency development, accessibility to constituents, and oversight of government programmes.

Best-performing MP

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has emerged as Kenya’s best-performing legislator in the latest Infotrak CountyTrak Performance Index 2026, earning an impressive 80 per cent approval rating from constituents and topping the national rankings.

The survey assessed public satisfaction with Members of Parliament based on service delivery, accessibility, responsiveness, and overall representation.

The survey also revealed that constituents are growing more critical of MPs in terms of their ground involvement, responsiveness to public concerns, judicious use of resources in the constituencies and involvement in national legislation and oversight.

The new findings are part of Infotrak’s nationwide survey on the performance of elected officials, which assesses how effective public representatives are in four areas: representation, development, accountability and responsiveness to the needs of wananchi.
